Job Description

Job Summary:
The Community Health Center of Buffalo, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Behavioral Health to lead the team in providing exceptional mental health support and services to patients. The Director will develop and recommend departmental policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. They will be responsible for formulating and implementing psychosocial service standards, such as case management and counseling activities for patients with various risk factors.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related behavioral science.
- Required license to practice in NY state and NY Professional license number.
- Five (5) years of counseling and supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment in challenging situations.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and support to Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of encounters and progress notes for each patient as mandated.
- Collaborate with Social Workers and Mental Health Counselors to establish partnerships with external community resources for consistent patient care.
- Lead HIV Pre and Post Test counseling, including HIV/AIDS education, partner notification, safer sex, and HIV treatment.
- Uphold departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
- Generate necessary written documentation according to professional and departmental standards.
- Manage, distribute, analyze, and safeguard information for mandated records, reports, and statistics.
- Engage in professional development activities like conferences, workshops, and seminars related to psychosocial services and patient care.
- Contribute to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance initiatives as required.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned or requested.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
