About the Firm - Waldron & Williams is a highly respected criminal defense firm based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, serving clients throughout Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, and surrounding counties. Our practice handles serious criminal matters at all levels. From DUI and drug offenses to complex felony and high-profile homicide cases. We are known for aggressive advocacy, discretion, and results. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional work.

The Role This is not an entry-level position. We need a seasoned legal professional who can hit the ground running and operate with minimal supervision. You will be the backbone of a busy criminal defense practice, managing client communications, drafting legal documents, and keeping the office running with precision.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe attorney dictation accurately and efficiently into motions, briefs, correspondence, and court filings
• Prepare and distribute fee agreements in a timely manner following client intake
• Manage client billing — track payments, prepare and send invoices, follow up on outstanding balances
• Handle phone calls with professionalism, compassion, and discretion — many callers are in crisis situations
• Coordinate and maintain attorney calendar, court dates, and deadlines
• Prepare and file documents with Lehigh, Northampton, and surrounding county courts
• Maintain organized and confidential client files
• Assist with client intake and onboarding

Requirements --- What We Offer

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in criminal defense in the court system or a criminal law firm. We are not looking for someone with just a background in criminal justice.
• Proven ability to transcribe dictation into polished legal documents — motions, briefs, letters
• Strong written and verbal communication skills — you write well and speak professionally
• Experience managing client billing, invoicing, and payment tracking within our system.
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania court filing procedures and systems
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with absolute discretion
• Composed and professional under pressure — our clients are dealing with some of the most stressful moments of their lives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Pay: $53,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
