Imagine your first weeks

You’re introduced to core sample preparation workflows—carefully weighing, ashing, and filtering—then shadow teammates to learn instrument setup and good documentation practices. You’ll practice capturing results accurately, double-checking your entries, and communicating updates so the team stays aligned.

What you’ll accomplish

• Prepare samples with a focus on consistency and accuracy (weighing, ashing, filtering).
• Operate laboratory instruments under guidance and standard operating procedures.
• Document data meticulously to support quality, safety, and compliance needs.
• Follow safety protocols rigorously and maintain an orderly bench.
• Work collaboratively, ask questions, and adapt as you learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• Basic familiarity with sample prep techniques (weighing, ashing, filtering).
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and clear communication skills.

Strengths that set you apart

• Experience with laboratory instruments or equipment upkeep.
• Knowledge of NIOSH methods 0500, 0600, and 7500.
• Exposure to analytical or environmental testing environments.

Education and experience notes

• High school diploma is required; an associate degree and relevant experience are a plus.
• Prior exposure to sample preparation or lab procedures is advantageous but not necessary.
